Degenerative Realism - A guest talk hosted by French & Italian 1/27/21 @ 4pm

Please join the Department of French & Italian in welcoming Professor Wampole, Princeton University, for her talk titled "Degenerative Realism." It will take place on Zoom (link to come) on January 27th at 4pm eastern.

In this lecture on her book Degenerative Realism: Novel and Nation in Twenty-First-Century France (Columbia UP, 2020), Christy Wampole discusses a new strain of realism--emblematized by writers like Michel Houellebecq, Frédéric Beigbeder, Aurélien Bellanger, and Yann Moix--which is obsessed with degeneration and collapse.

Please contact Professor Lucas Hollister for more information.
