Brigitte Mosenthal Recipient of 2016 Award for Distinguished Lecturer

The Department of French and Italian is very pleased to announce that Brigitte Mosenthal, Senior Lecturer and French Language Coordinator for the Department, has received the Dean of Faculty’s 2016 Award for Distinguished Lecturer.  One such award is given annually to a lecturer or senior lecturer who has taught at Dartmouth continuously at least half-time for five years or more.  Professor Mosenthal, who has been a member of the department for the past fifteen years, was awarded the funds in support of her development of a new course on business French.  As she explained in her submission for the award, “The aim of the course is not only to give students specific vocabulary with an application of language skills to business situations and contexts, but also to analyze how French politics, economic history and culture have resulted in current business practices in France.  Furthermore, students will examine cultural differences in the world of work between France and the USA.”  The first iteration of the course will be taught by Professor Mosenthal in Spring 2016.
