Cloise Appleton Crane Prize In French And Italian

The Cloise Appleton Crane Prize In French And Italian was established in 1970 by Mrs. Mae Eloise Crane in memory of her son.  Cloise Crane, class of 1935, died in 1969.  Born in Strafford, Vermont, he came to Dartmouth from Washington, D.C.  He became a language specialist and taught and served as a linguist for the government.  He later became a translator for Demrich Associates where he worked in no less than eight languages.
